Palliation Octreotide (Sandostatin) is a synthetic, long-acting somatostatin analogue that significantly
decreases hormone secretion by tumor cells . It is extremely useful for suppressing gastrin levels and inhibiting the hypersecretion of gastric acid on a sustained basis for managing the Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. This may be helpful if Omeprazole treatment fails.
